The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course teaches the basic knowledge, skills and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely. This course includes classroom learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development.
Students will receive the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Basic Firearm Training Program brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, Basic Practical Rocker and brochure, take the Basics of Pistol Shooting Examination, and receive an NRA basic course completion certificate. Students under the age of 21 may participate in this course.
Your Certified Instructors will use the NRA’s Total Participant Involvement instructional methods, and will employ hands-on classroom training aids.
Buy-Sell-Trade or Consignment. We buy and trade guns every day, and we can usually make you an offer depending on the gun's condition, current market demand, our current inventory, and other factors. With regard to buying or trading, we will always need to see the item in person in order to offer the best deal. Establishing values cannot be done over the phone or via in-store conversation without the gun being present. We also offer a consignment program for selling your firearms. This program is often the best way to get the most out of your guns without dealing with the risks of selling them yourself and being assured that whoever buys your consignment firearms are legally able to do so. We charge a consignment fee. Please recognize that once a gun has been consigned to us, a background check must be run before you will be able to take it out of consignment. Therefore, your ability to take your consignment firearm with you is contingent on approval and payment of the state's fee
Handgun Carry Permits. We offer classroom instruction to satisfy the state's requirements to apply for your Handgun Carry Permit. Inquire in-store, over the web, or via phone about class schedules and availability. All instructors are State and NRA certified.
Transfers. We do accept the transfer of firearms you have purchased elsewhere, although we encourage you to check with us first to see if we can get the gun for you at the same or near the same price since there are transfer fee and shipping and handling charges.
Insurance Appraisals. Your homeowner's or tenant-owner's insurance policies have theft limitations on coverage for your firearms. For full coverage protection, you will need to schedule your firearms via an endorsement to your policy. We offer written appraisals for this as well as assisting in replacement values of your firearms should you suffer a loss.
